A 125 cm oversized coat, recognisable by two details: buttoned side slits that reach your trouser pockets without opening the coat, and trompe-l'oeil pocket entries in the shape of an open envelope.
COLTESSE IS AN INDEPENDENT, ECO-CONSCIOUS AND AGILE WORKSHOP.
THE POCKET YOU CAN ACTUALLY REACH. Deep winter, coat buttoned to the chin, keys in your trouser pocket. A buttoned slit on each side lets your hand go straight through, coat still closed around you.
POCKETS SHAPED LIKE AN OPEN ENVELOPE. The front pocket entries are trompe-l'oeil, cut in the shape of an open envelope. They are what makes the coat recognisable from across the street.
A CUT THAT LEAVES YOU ROOM. Oversize by design, dropped shoulders, sleeves curved at the elbow so the arm moves instead of fighting the cloth. Generous, not shapeless: at 530 g/m² the coat holds its own shape but keeping its ease.
WHY 125 CM. The name is the length. Below the knee, it goes over a suit jacket without breaking the line. Shorter, it would have been a jacket. Longer, it would have dictated the outfit.
SIX YEARS, ONE COAT. Each time we have made it, something was refined: the cloth, the fit, the counter-button that spreads the strain so the wool does not tear. We could have redrawn it every season. We preferred to keep working on the same one.
AWARDED IN 2022. The Fenté 125 and its designer, Florent Coltesse, received the Grand Prix de la Création de la Ville de Paris. A prize, for a coat drawn in Paris and made in Europe.
WHY WE MAKE IT TO ORDER. We produce the quantity ordered, nothing beyond it. Nothing is made in advance, nothing is destroyed at the end of the season. How pre-orders work.

Coltesse seeks balance in its creative proposals, between a timeless and minimalist sophistication for an everyday wardrobe and a freedom of movement.
It is also a balance between our creative ambitions and our ecological convictions. Human beings are at the heart of our project: respect the planet means respect them.
From the first pattern to material tests, the Fenté 125 was developed entirely in our studio in Paris. It is then made in Portugal, by the workshop we have worked with for years. Designing in Paris and producing in Europe is what we mean when we say we work close to home.
